LEP Skills Service Funding for businesses in Leeds City Region

The LEP Skills Service supports businesses in their ambitions to grow by offering support to close their skills gap through funding for training, and 100% Effective are a registered training provider.

It supports small- and medium-sized businesses in the Leeds City Region to help find the right training, with grants of between £500 and £50,000 to put towards training costs. The Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership has a team of expert advisers who can help you identify the skills you need in your business, and find the training.

Grants available

The Skills Service can provide grants of up to 50% of the cost of training for eligible businesses and have access to over 500 approved training providers.

The LEP is offering this funding because 92% of businesses have identified a skills shortage among their workforce in at least one area, and 80% of businesses have plans to invest in training. However, cost, staff availability and a lack of suitable courses are key barriers for businesses looking to invest in training.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the Skills Service Funding your business must be based in the Leeds City Region. This area includes businesses based in Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield and York.

Organisations must also employ fewer than 250 people and have a turnover of no more than €50 million.

You must be able to contribute at least 50% of the cost of the training and be in one of the LEP’s priority sectors (creative and digital, finance and business, hospitality and tourism, low carbon and construction, manufacturing and engineering, transport and logistics and medical technology).

How can 100% Effective help?

100% Effective is an approved training provider, so if you want to take Business Improvement training with us and meet all of the criteria, you could receive up to 50% of your training costs up to a maximum of £50,000.
